Okay guys…. the weather here in Northeast Texas has been giving me fall preview tease….and that has me in the mood of pumpkin!!! Like Starbucks hurry up with my Pumpkin Spiced Latte! Well until them…and maybe after that…. I have this amazing pumpkin protein shake to tie us all over!! Because I’m struggling right along with y’all!
I think y’all have had enough time to get to know me by now…and if so y’all know dang well….that I hate protein shakes!!!! With a freaking passion!!! I just hate the way it taste…..it’s like I added chalk dust to my shake!!!
But I have great news guys…..this shake doesn’t taste chalky at all!!! I was soooooooooooooooooooo surprised. Pleasantly, I might add….and I have now included this into my morning routine….I have this as a post morning workout drink. (yeah and I skip breakfast….I can only run, if my tummy is empty…I don’t know if that is normal….I guess I will have to do some research and see)
I hope you guys like this recipe….and it is perfect for anyone who is training or just want to loose some weight and add some muscles….
- 1 c unsweetened coconut milk*
- 1/3 c pumpkin puree
- 1/4c old-fashioned oats
- ½ frozen banana
- ½ tbsp chia seed
- ¼ tsp pumpkin pie spice*
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- 1.5 scoop protein powder***
- 5 drops Stevia Drops, vanilla crème flavor****
- 3 ice cubes
*Milk substitutions—almond, low-fat, soy, rice—will work too, but the consistency will not be as thick.
**If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice on hand, add a dash of each the following: cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice.
***The best flavors for this recipe are graham cracker (yes, they make delicious flavor), vanilla, cinnamon swirl or unflavored.
****You can sub this with ½ tsp Stevia and ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- Add all ingredients into the blender, and pulse until smooth.
- Enjoy immediately. Makes one awesome serving.
